Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, I attended Farmville Central High School in Farmville, NC, and graduated high school from the North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics in Durham, NC--a residential high school under the University of North Carolina system for academically-gifted juniors and seniors.
In May 2007, I graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC with a BA in Spanish Language & Literature and a BA in Communication, Public Relations concentration.
University/Community Involvement
Additionally, I am an active member of Mt. Moriah Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, a volunteer with Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Wake County and the Praise and Worship Leader for the National Collegiate Music Conference.
My professional experience consists of working with various types of organizations including advertising and public relations agencies, non-profit companies, a division of state government and faith-based organizations. Having gained experience with such a range of types of companies, enables me to bring versatility and diversity to the positions in which I serve.
Tasks that I have enjoyed the most include:
- Writing bilingual copy for marketing materials and Web sites
- Constructing Web sites
- Writing feature articles
- Writing press releases
- Designing fliers and marketing pieces
- Training employees
- Leading teams of supervisors
- Editing and re-organizing manuals
- Conducting/transcribing one-on-one interviews in Spanish with adults to evaluate the efficacy of a grant program
- Translating materials into Spanish and English
- Tutoring students one-on-one

My strongest passions are writing, helping people, music, singing, learning about different cultures and learning in general.
I’m also interested in the empowerment of the African-American and Latino communities in the United States in the areas of education, finances and credit, career skills, language development and more.
