Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies

About the Agency: HMHB is a 501©3 private, non-profit organization with the mission of improving the health and well-being of families and reducing infant mortality and morbidity. Founded in 1990 by community leaders in Wake County who were concerned with the extremely high infant mortality rates, HMHB has actively expanded its focus to include working to prevent teen pregnancy and juvenile delinquency. HMHB is led by a seven-member board of directors and utilizes the services of staff persons and volunteers in its programs. Funding for HMHB comes from a variety of public and private sources, including those on the local, state and national levels.

My Position: Volunteer

My Major Duties: Tutor/assist children, create public relations materials, translate documents into Spanish.
