VIDEO Open on a series of LSs and ELSs of nine-year-old white male and well-groomed golden lab puppy dog. They play, run about freely and the boy laughs and throws a ball.	AUDIO (Ambient sounds, boy laughing, dog barking) "Come on, spot!" The boy says.
Cut to a CU shot of the boy throwing the ball so that it rattles a metal trashcan. When the trashcan is moved, a scraggly, pitiful-looking, frightened stray mutt and her three puppies are revealed.	NARRATOR: (VO) EVER DAY 70,000 CATS AND DOGS ARE BORN WHILE 10,000 HUMANS ARE BORN. AND EACH YEAR 6 MILLION PETS ARE PUT TO SLEEP BECAUSE THERE ARE NO HOMES FOR THEM.
Cut to a LS of the boy and the dog who are taken aback. They freeze for a moment and then continue on.	IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.
Dissolve to a shot of the boy and his mother at the clinic seated at a desk. Pan left to a smiling black female veterinarian in a white coat reading over some information on paper with the family while the boy pets the pup and smiles.
